Octopus Tentacle Wet Specimen Necklace
This octopus tentacle (okay, they’re technically called “arms,” but tentacle just sounds so much cooler) wet specimen necklace is completely preserved and sealed in an electroformed glass heart jar. Each octopus tentacle/arm is ethically sourced – they are a byproduct of the seafood industry and have been marked unusable for consumption.
After being professionally “fixed” with formalin, they are stored in a 70/30 mixture of isopropyl alcohol (for preservation) and glycerin (to reduce evaporation). They are sealed with a layer of silicone and then a layer of epoxy clay before being covered in copper.
